CONVENTION INFORMATION
As the Department Convention is approaching I would like to remind all of some
important issues.
1. MARINE OF THE YEAR
The deadline for submissions for Department Marine of The Year is 1 June 2013. Follow
the instruction in the Department Bylaws that are posted on the Department web site
njmcl.org.
2. REGISTRATION
Each Detachment Commandant received the registration form and number of Delegates
they are allowed. That does not mean that your Detachment cannot register more than the
allowed Delegates. Delegates are only for voting purposes.
3. BANQUET
The banquet is on Saturday night. That is when the Department gives out the special
awards. Commandant, District Vice Commandant, Aide de Camp and Marine of the
year. Come out and support your Detachment members who may be honored.
4. ELECTIONS
The Department Staff will be elected along with your District Vice Commandant. If you
would like to run for any office you must be present.
5. HOTEL
If you are going to stay at the hotel, you must make reservations ASAP. You give a credit
card to hold the room, but you pay the Department and you do not need to pay the tax. It
will not be charged to your credit card. Hotel phone number is 609-272-0200.
Reservations must be made by 15 May otherwise you will pay the full regular price.
6. ADD BOOK
All adds for the Convention add book must be in by 15 May.
