2024 Chapel of the Four Chaplains Events and Nomination Information for North Jersey

The annual Father Washington – Four Chaplains Memorial Mass is again being hosted by Father Washington’s parish, St. Stephen’s Church located at 141 Washington Avenue in Kearny (corner of Kearny Ave and Washington Ave) on Sunday, February 4th at noon. 

The parish has extended its invitation to all veterans and encourages color guard presence (flags only). The Department has traditionally taken part in this ceremony and will do so again this year. 

Uniform of the Day will be the MCL Casual Uniform (Red Blazer with MCL pocket crest, black tie, black trousers and MCL cover). As a reminder, the Sun Bursts collar emblems are NOT worn with this uniform. 

There will be a reception preceding the event which is also the muster point. The reception will be in the basement beneath the church. Entry into the basement is via the church assembly area. It is advised that you arrive no later than 1100 hours. 

Please extend this invitation to your respective detachment memberships.

NOTE:
 
The annual Four Chaplains Award Ceremony will be on March 16th at 11:00 am.
