I am happy to announce the Department of New Jersey – Marine Corps League will be hosting a Social / Meet & Greet event at the NJ National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 1300 – 1500 hours. The event will be held at the pavilion area which is the location where we held our “one-day mini-convention” in 2021.
The Department is holding this event to honor Sgt Danny Garcia (USMC, Ret.) and his wife, Lt. Col. Jackie Garcia (USAF, Ret.), both of whom are hosting their Honor Walk 2023 awareness event from March 18th thru April 7th. They will be visiting several events in New York City on March 25th and will be in our area on March 26th. The attached flyers give details of their cause for supporting veterans, first responders and their families. Supporting causes such as theirs is something we can all take pride in doing.
I am asking for some volunteers to assist me with some final details needing attention, and ask all detachments to consider sending some representatives to meet Danny and Jackie. Our goal is to show them that we at the NJ MCL support their efforts, in person and in spirit. Uniform of the Day will be announced at a later date.
I will need to know in advance the names of those attending so I can advise Sea Girt ahead of the event. Please do so no later than Saturday, March 18th.
