As an incentive program, to assist in “new member acquisition efforts, please pass the following on to the Departments and Detachments under your jurisdiction with your own comments of support and encouragement. This award has been approved by the National Commandant and will be presented to the winning Detachment at the National Convention in August 2014.
1} There will be an award of One Thousand ($1,000.00) dollars to the single Detachment in the Marine Corps League, that follows the criteria listed here and can document that the requirements have been met.
2) This contest will have an effective time period from December 1, 2013 to July 1, 2014.
3) This includes any existing Detachment or new Detachments which is chartered during this time period.
4} The Detachment that recruits the largest number of NEW members will be declared the winner.
5} In the event of a tie, a drawing will be held at the convention to declare the winner.
6} These new members must be documented on a Membership Dues Transmittal form that must be processed through the Department and received no later than July 10, 2014
7) The Official Results will be tabulated by National Headquarters from the Membership Database Reports.
9} League members who have previous membership who were dropped from the rolls as “delinquent” will not count as they will be “retained” members, not “new”.
Please get this out to the Department Commandants and follow up to assure they notify and follow up to their Detachments.
THIS AWARD WILL BE AWARDED ONLY TO A DETACHMENT. IT IS NOT AN INDIVIDUAL AWARD. TOP COMBINED NEW MEMBER RECRUITS IN A DETACHMENT!!!!!!
We ask that each of you personally monitor the progress being made by your Detachments and drive their participation. Please let me know how things are progressing in your Division.
