Commissioner Vincent Solomeno of the New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs invites Veterans from across the state and beyond to attend this year’s Memorial Observance on May 23 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
This year’s ceremony marks the first Memorial Day observance conducted under the banner of the newly established New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs. The Department encourages maximum participation as the program opens with a roughly 200‑meter march featuring Veterans and Veterans Service Organizations. All detachments and color guards are welcome to take part.
Participants in the march should be in position by 10:45 AM. The formal ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 AM.
To ensure full inclusion, an accessible reserved section will be available for Veterans and attendees who are unable to participate in the march.
Commissioner Solomeno emphasizes that this observance is an opportunity to honor the service and sacrifice of all who have worn the uniform, and to bring the Veteran community together under the leadership of the new Department of Veterans Affairs.
