he West Hudson Detachment has been awarded 2nd Place in the National Americanism Award (Company Category, 51-100 members) at the 2026 National Midwinter Conference.
The Americanism Award is the League’s most prestigious unit citation, recognizing local detachments that demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the community, youth programs, and the promotion of American values. West Hudson’s submission highlighted a year of extensive service, including local Toys for Tots drives, honor guard details for fallen veterans, and active sponsorship of youth leadership initiatives.
This award is a testament to the ‘Semper Fi’ spirit of the West Hudson Detachment members. In a category competing against units from across the country, West Hudson stood out for dedication to the citizens of Hudson County and the league’s mission to support fellow Marines.
The Detachment was judged on its comprehensive “Program of Work,” which documented hundreds of hours of volunteerism and community outreach. By securing second place, the West Hudson Detachment solidifies its reputation as one of the most active and patriotic units in the League for the Company-size division (51–100 members).
