Annual Father Washington – Four Chaplains Memorial Mass @ St. Stephen’s Church

The annual Father Washington – Four Chaplains Memorial Mass is again being hosted by Father Washington’s parish, St. Stephen’s Church located at 141 Washington Avenue in Kearny (corner of Kearny Ave and Washington Ave) on Sunday, February 2th at Noon.

The parish has extended its invitation to all veterans and encourages color guard presence (flags only). The Department has traditionally taken part in this ceremony and will do so again this year.

Uniform of the Day will be the MCL Casual Uniform (Red Blazer with MCL pocket crest, black tie, black trousers and MCL cover). As a reminder, the Sun Bursts collar emblems are NOT worn with this uniform.

There will be a reception preceding the event which is also the muster point. The reception will be in the basement beneath the church. Entry into the basement is via the church assembly area. It is advised that you arrive no later than 1100 hours.

The annual Four Chaplains Award Ceremony will be on March 8th at 11:00 am.

Nominations must be submitted no later than February 9, 2025.
